About Islamic Economics Winter Course 2024
The Islamic Economics Winter Course (IESWC) 2024 is the sixth installment of an international collaboration event series of Islamic Economics Winter Course held by Department of Islamic Economics, IPB University. This year event is held for 9 days, of which 6 days were online class sessions, 1 day for cultural sharing, 1 day for conference and 1 day for visiting an Islamic social finance project.
This event has been held since 2019 and in each years, IESWC has been attended by more than 500 participants, both foreign and domestic participants. This year, the Islamic Economics Winter Course event will be held on September 09 to 18, 2024 through a hybrid method. Submission of lecture material is delivered via an online conference platform, Zoom, while visiting an Islamic social finance project is carried out directly on-site.
This year’s theme raises the issue of “Sustainable Economic and Development, Islamic Social Finance and Welfare”. Sustainable economic development refers to the process of achieving economic growth and development without depleting natural resources or harming the environment, ensuring that future generations can meet their needs.
So with this theme we want to emphasizes a holistic approach to development that integrates sustainable economic practices with the ethical and social principles of Islamic finance, aiming to enhance overall welfare and achieve a more just and equitable society.
